I Battle Emptiness

I battle emptiness

I wage a war with fear

I shrink in despair

When I realize how far I am in

Fulfillment of all that I hold dear

I am in awe of infinity

High on divinity  

Natures force

Rouses my buried source

Yet I do not allow it to come forth  

For Its majestic beauty frightens me

And I - A small speck in the universe

Struggle to create

Relate

And excavate

Significance in my small state

There is a part of me yearning

A slice of me burning

To ignite

Alight

Rise above my plight

But human being that I am

I cannot always break free

Of my blanket of sham

I continue to struggle

Constantly juggle

The hybrid voices

The clouded choices

 Yet when I stop to listen

to the call of nature once more

I hear the message

 from within its core

There is value in my desire

all the times I perspire  

And as long as I aspire

To reach greater heights

I too am a part of this enchanting rhythm

And the significant dance that celebrates His mission.
